![]() ![]() ![]() In a departure from the novel, the film adaptation of The People We Hate At The Wedding sees half-sisters Eloise and Alice bond with each other over their shared fertility struggles. With it having been revealed that Donna and her children have healed their estranged family at the conclusion of The People We Hate At The Wedding, Donna takes the opportunity to rediscover herself and travel the world. Her children's love is enough and she instead decides to prioritize the family dynamic in her life instead of bending over backward for romance. ![]() Earlier in The People We Hate At The Wedding, after coming to the defense of her children in a hilarious fistfight at the wedding rehearsal dinner and landing in jail, Donna realizes that she doesn't need to rely on a romantic partner to feel unconditional love. The photo and the message written on it - a reference to Eat, Pray, Love - reveal that Donna has moved on from her failed romantic relationship with Henrique and the pain of her late husband, Bill, and has begun to focus on herself and her own happiness. A photo of Donna " Eat, Pray, Loving it across Greece" is shown during the end credits. Viewers may not have seen the entirety of Donna's happy ending in The People We Hate At The Wedding if they didn't stick around for the closing credits of the film. ![]()
